What is a Non Surgical Nose Job

I am unhappy with my nose, but I can't afford rhinoplasty surgery.  I am considering a non-surgical option but don't know much about it other than that it is supposed to be less expensive than plastic surgery.  What exactly is a non-surgical nose job?  Do the results last?

Buyer beware of non surgical nose jobs
Currently there is a trend in cosmetic procedures for "non-surgical" solutions. One procedure that has receiving press is the non-surgical rhinoplasty or nose surgery. This is a term used to describe a technique in which synthetic injectable (Restylane, Radiesse, etc.) are injected in the nose to change the shape of the nose. As a rhinoplasty surgeon in New York City, I have had several patients inquire about this procedure. I warn these patients of marketing terms used to sell... more

Criteria for a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty: Is everyone a candidate?

A Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) involves using Injectable Fillers to improve your appearance. You can have Silikon-1000 for permanent results (my personal preference), but Radiesse, Juvederm, and Restylane are used as well. The choice of filler depends on the preference, and experience of your physician. I have been using Silikon-1000 in the nose for over 10 years and have had wonderful success, and many happy patients. The most commonly performed Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty procedure... more

Non-surgical nose jobs are good for some, not so good for others
A non-surgical rhinoplasty or non-surgical nose job uses injection of safe and effective filler materials (typically Radiesse) to alter the shape of the nose. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a quick and easy alternative for those who want to improve certain features of their nose but are not yet ready for a surgical rhinoplasty. Non-surgical rhinoplasty takes less than five minutes to perform and has minimal discomfort and minimal recovery associated with it. Results typically last up to one... more

Non-Surgical Nose Job
Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be used to augment the nose ranging from subtle to dramatic changes.  Dermal-fillers can be used to create contours, fill-in areas and visually decrease humps, and refine the tip and over-all appearance of the nose.  Typically, fillers placed in the nose last 6-9 months.  Occasionally, some results are longer because the body is stimulated to build it's own collagen in the area. Depending on your goals, non-surgical rhinoplasty may be... more

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty versus Rhinoplasty
For some patients, injecting a filler such as Radiesse to the nose can be a good alternative to a Rhinoplasty. Costs can add up over time however, so consider your long-term goals and your budget. Whether or not a patient is a good candidate depends upon their specific goals and their anatomy. Most fillers are generally not permanent, and will only correct specific anatomical issues, not things that may cause problems with your breathing. They also are only good at ‘filling’,... more

Non-surgical nosejob
Non surgical nose jobs are simply the application of filler products into the nasal soft tissue of a nose to augment or change the shape of the nose. Most fillers on the market are temporary (lasting 6-18 months) but there are others that are permanent (eg silicone). However even the temporary fillers can potentially cause permanent scarring, lymphatic changes, or skin color changes. Therefore I do not routinely advise having a nonsurgical nose job unless you are absolutely... more

Beware of Fillers Placed in the Nose

You should be very careful before letting anyone place fillers in your nose. The material is not FDA-approved. Placing fillers in the nose can be very tempting. However, it has caused a number of very unfortunate side-effect such as skin loss, permanent deformities and aggressive infections.  Unless you are ready to deal with a permanent and irreversible problem, you should avoid having fillers placed in your nose. The advantages of undergoing rasping of the hump... more

Non-surgical nose job

Fillers such as restylane can be used to correct subtle irregularities of the nose in a safe and effective way in most cases. The first thing to keep in mind is that the individual injecting the filler needs to have an intimate understanding of the nose. This often starts with someone who has good experience with rhinoplasty. Too often noses are filled in unusual and unnatural ways. I have found it to be a good choice for patients with minor contour irregularities. I do not recommend it... more

Non-Surgical Nose Job

The increased popularity of injectable fillers, such as Restylane and Radiesse for treating facial wrinkles and for restoring volume to the face, has spilled over into nasal surgery. These substances are now being injected into the soft tissues of the nose to change its shape -- i.e, a non-surgical nose-job. The deformity of nose will dictate how much of the injectable substance is required to achieve the desired result. While injectable fillers may be appropriate for treating localized... more

Non-surgical nose job can help someone requiring a 'bigger' nose
A non surgical nose job can benefit someone requiring a 'bigger' nose. This is performed using a semi-permanent filler such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Radiesse. Permanent fillers, such as ArteFill, are not recommended. Most commonly, a non surgical nose job is more ideally suited for someone with a low radix and a dorsal hump. This filler will help 'smooth' one's profile. Fillers can also be used in the tip or to 'fill' contour defects.

Not the answer--Sometimes a short cut is a long cut
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a procedure where a filler is injected into the nose in an effort to make it appear better in appearance. The limits of a non-surgical rhinoplasty are that it can only add volume to a nose and do so for a limited duration. Permanent fillers are not recommended anywhere, especially the nose. A permanent filler is almost impossible to remove from the nose and can result in granulomas, pain and swelling, and poor aesthetic appearance. Your best bet is to wait until... more

Sculpting the nose without surgery
For some, injecting filler to the nose may be a reasonable alternative to surgical rhinoplasty. Determining whether or not someone is a good candidate for this depends upon the type of deformity and patient expectations. Most fillers are not permanent, and will only correct minor deformities. Functional breathing problems will, typically, not be corrected with these nonsurgical techniques. For the most part filler can only be used to treat areas that are under... more

It should be called a Minimal Invasive Procedure.

Non- Surgical Rhinoplasty refers to the use of fillers such as Radiesse. These can last a long time and work well to fill deficient areas. There is a permanent filler that you can use and that is your own fat. This can also be fairly minimally invasive, although is is strictly speaking a surgical procedure.

What is a Non Surgical Nose Job?
A non surgical nose job is the use of filler injections to plump areas of the nose to help camouflage a bump or a depression in the nose that is not attractive. Nonsurgical nose jobs have their place

Nonsurgical nose jobs are typically performed with non-permanent injectable fillers such as restylane or juvederm. The results last usually 6-9 months but can vary from patient to patient. Although many of my fellow surgeons who perform rhinoplasty scoff at the notion of a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, I think that the treatment has its place. Non Surgical Nose Job? Brings to mind a Cold Fire or Hot Ice

A non-surgical nose job is a bit of a misnomer. A more apt term would be "fillers in the nose". If you want to have a specific change to your nose, there aren't any good alternatives to Rhinoplasty (surgery).

Non-surgical nose job definition

Whenever you hear about a procedure with the words "nonsurgical", beware because it is by no means the equivalent of a surgical procedure and will not produce the same result. This phrase is commonly used to refer to filling in of areas of the nose, like a "ski nose deformity" (think Richard Nixon here!) using injectible fillers such as Radiesse or Restylane, to improve the contour of the nose. However, unlike facial rejuvenation treatments, which are excellent for patients not ready for... more

Non-surgical Nose Job

A non-surgical nose job is one in which changes are made to the shape of the nose without any incisions but with injecting fillers. Typically fillers such as Restylane or Radiesse are used to change the shape of the nose. It is important to note that this is a temporary solution as the fillers will dissipate after 9-12 months. It will also not assist with breathing in anyway and can be a detriment for future surgery as the filler creates a scar between the skin and the... more

Non-surgical nose job uses fillers.

The nonsurgical nose job involves injecting fillers, like Radiesse or Restylane, into the nose to minimize a hump, smooth out assymmetries or irregularities, improve tip projection, or make other modifications. This technique cannot make the nose smaller. No permanent fillers are safe in the nose (do not let someone put silicone or Artefill in your nose). The results are not permanent but generally last 6-12 months.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Options

There are indeed non-surgical rhinoplasty options for both primary and secondary patients. I use non-surgical options for Asian patients and primary rhinoplasty patients in which I’ll put dorsal only Restylane and/or Juvederm fillers in this area with good results that last over 2 years. I also use fillers in secondary patients that have small contour deformities or ones that are much too early to operate on. I think this is a very good option, but it is not a permanent one. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
A non-surgical rhinoplasty using fillers is usually not going to give patients the results they are looking for. If you are simply trying to "hide" a bump in the nose, then you may be satisfied; however, essentially, you are adding to the nose making it larger, where as with a traditional rhinoplasty you are usually minimizing and refining various features of the nose. Non-surgical rhinoplasty

This term is used for injecting fillers on the nose, especially along the bridge. There are very few instances where this is indicated since it is not a permanent fix and may cause problems. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a very deceptive term. There is NO substitute from a surgical procedure to reshape the nose, and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. For those who do not want to undergo rhinoplasty surgery, temporary fillers (restylane, perlane, radiesse) can be used to camouflage the bump or in flatter noses build up the bridge.  The problem is that injectable fillers in the nose have high complication rates (loss of tissue in the areas injected, infection, scarring, to name just a few), especially if done by non-surgeons and others who want to dabble in the cosmetic field.

Of course rhinoplasty surgery is the most precise, lasting, and effective way to address the nasal deformity
Of course rhinoplasty surgery is the most precise, lasting, and effective way to address the nasal deformity that you are unhappy with. Nonetheless, as a more temporary solution, tissue fillers may be used to improve the contour and shape of your nose. I do not recommend the use of the longer lasting tissue fillers such as Artifill in the nose, because of the risk of migration or shifting of the filler down the road which may be very difficult to correct. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty = Non-Result

Fillers injected into the nose, while certainly yielding a transient result and not necessarily a good one, may also produce damage to the nasal skin and underlying structures, including the alar and lower lateral cartilages.  Once the effect of the fillers is gone, the patient will be left with remedying the consequences, a situation that might result in a more complex rhinoplasty once it is undertaken.

The phrase is really just nonsensical, misleading and an advertising gimmick.  It usually involves an injection with a filler material and you essentially pay for the filler.  It can not correct most the problems people have (i.e. a hump) and usually the results will be gone in 6 months.  This is often advertised by non-surgeons or aestheticians.  If you are considering a rhinoplasty, go to someone with all the tools available.  Ask your... more

Non-Surgical Nose Job - Does It Work?

A “non-surgical” rhinoplasty is performed by injecting non-permanent injectable fillers (no permanent injectable fillers are approved for injection at this date) in the nose to change its shape. Be careful with non-surgical nose job

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a bit of an inaccurate term. The concept is to add volume with soft tissue fillers to the nose and improve the appearance. As such, the only nose that will benefit is one that has an area that needs to be made larger. Non-surgical rhinoplasty
You are likely referring to the injection of a filler to the nose. This can be a great non-surgical, but temporary solution for some patients. Not all patients are good candidates however, and you talk to your surgeon about this. Generally it is best used for augmenting the dorsum (or side profile) of the nose.

Nosejob without surgery

Generally speaking, if your nose is big, very asymmetrical or crooked then you need surgery. If it's small and would look better by making it a little bit bigger in certain areas then you could have it filled by an injectable. There is probably a role for this for you, but the non-surgical option is temporary. You should be evaluated by your board-certified plastic surgeon. Those that do the surgery often are familiar with the alternatives. Best Wishes, DoctorMeadE

A non-surgical procedure is not appropriate for all of my patients but for some of my patients it is the perfect solution and sometimes is the only solution. Appropriate candidates include: 1. Can a non-surgical nose job replace rhinoplasty?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a precudure where a filler such as Restylane or Radiesse is injected into the nose, to change the contour. There has been significant media coverage of "non-surgical rhinoplasty". However, non-surgical rhinoplasty can not replace rhinoplasty for cosmetic improvement of the nose. There are only a few limited indications where non-surgical rhinoplasty can be effective. These include: 1. Effacement of depressions on the dorsum of the nose. 2. Smoothing of... more

A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is not a rhinoplasty

By definition, a rhinoplasty is a permanent alteration to the nasal structures which changes the appearance of a nose. Therefore the cost over time would be more than a well done rhinoplasty. Even for temporary results, the shape may not be ideal for what you need.... more

More permanent fillers are not recommended. Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be a good option for noses that require tip, radix or dorsal augmentation. I recommend that your plastic surgeon "morph" your nose before adding the filler, so that you can see the proposed changes. The non-surgical rhinoplasty can also be... more

Fillers for a nonsurgical nose job

The many great posts here speak for themselves, so I will not be redundant (just give you my bare bones thoughts)...basically, fillers for the nose come in many forms and name brands, they are NOT permanent, they only correct VERY specific anatomical issues and they DO NOT correct breathing problems and they resorb over time and go away (did I already say that?)! Fillers genereally last about a year or so, depending on the typ
