Your bulbous tip may be narrowed with Rhinoplasty Surgery.
The exact technique to narrow the tip of your nose will largely depend on the preference of your surgeon. The exact technique is not as important as your final result and your satisfaction after surgery. What you are referring to is most likely called a Tip-plasty?
Usually I recommend the external approach for the bulbous tip. If there is no concern regarding the bridge of the nose or the width of the upper aspect of the nose then an isolated treatment of the tip can be performed although this is uncommon in most of our practices. Treatment of the tip can include removal of cartilage in a conservative fashion, shaping the exisiting cartilage, or even adding cartilage taken from the inside of the nose (tip grafting), Sometimes sutures placed.
